Volkswagen has admitted to illegally installing complex software that reduces emissions when it senses that the car is being tested based on data like steering angle, speed, engine run times, and atmospheric pressure on diesel vehicles made from 2009-2015. The millions of cars were marketed as environmentally-friendly, but on the road they emitted emissions to over 40% the legal limit allowed in the U.S., according to a statement from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
11 million VW and Audi TDI vehicles worldwide have been affected.
Not four days after the EPA announcement, 25 class action lawsuits had been filed on behalf of drivers in all 50 states, according to Reuters. Volkswagen knows what they did is wrong, and they’re prepared to pay. If you want to be compensated for your defective Volkswagen, you need an experienced, aggressive lawyer on your side.
